The MLB playoffs will come with a little added excitement this season as MLB has thankfully eliminated off-days between home games, which will be great news for those that like watching playoff baseball rather than trying to track down the schedule. And if you are planning on buying MLB playoff tickets knowing the schedule will help you out too. In addition to the elimination of off-days, the other big news is that the games will start a bit sooner and the World Series will end in October rather than November, which the past few years had been the month when the MLB season ended. Speaking of playoff tickets you can start buying them toward the end of the regular season. And if you buy tickets and your team doesn’t make the post-season you will get your money back.
The playoffs are scheduled to begin with two ALDS games on Friday, September 30 and if all goes according to plan, Game One of the World Series will go down on Wednesday, October 19. If you are keeping score at home this is the first time since 1915 that the post-season will kick off on a Friday. Saturday, October 1 is going to be a big day for MLB as there will be no less than FOUR playoff games, both NLDS games and both game twos of the ALDS.
Following the Divisional Series, which are a best of five games, the Championship Series are set to start for the American League on Saturday, October 8 and on Sunday for the NLCS. The 107th World Series will start on Wednesday, October 19 and Game Seven is on October 27. Here is the complete 2011 playoff schedule.
If you can’t score tickets the Divisional Series games will again be shown on TBS and its sister stations as required, the Championship Series will be on Fox, TBS and its sister stations and the World Series will be on Fox or if want to listen on the radio, all games will be covered by ESPN Radio.
